Calendar subscription

A live, read-only connection from your calendar app to someone else's published calendar.

Subscribing to a calendar means adding its feed URL to your own calendar app. The events appear alongside your own, update automatically, and cannot be edited by you; the publisher stays in control.

Subscriptions differ from invitations and calendar sharing inside one provider: they work across providers (a Google user can subscribe to a feed published from anywhere) and require no accounts or permissions, just the link.
