How often does a synced calendar refresh?
A calendar you keep in sync with an external feed refreshes automatically about every 6 hours, and a Refresh button pulls it instantly.
When you subscribe TangoHive to an outside feed (an ICS or webcal link added with "Keep this calendar in sync"), we re-check that feed automatically about every 6 hours, four times a day, and bring over anything that changed - new, moved, and cancelled events. Your own hand-added events are never touched.
The checks run at 00:23, 06:23, 12:23, and 18:23 UTC, which is currently 8:23 PM, 2:23 AM, 8:23 AM, and 2:23 PM US Eastern and 5:23 PM, 11:23 PM, 5:23 AM, and 11:23 AM US Pacific. The US clock times shift by an hour with daylight saving; the UTC times never change.
A brand new subscription does not wait: the moment you subscribe, that first import is the first sync. The 6-hour cadence only governs the refreshes after that.
Need the latest right now? Open My calendars and press Refresh on the synced calendar to pull it immediately.
This is in step with the big calendars: Google and Apple also refresh the feeds they follow every few hours, so 6 hours keeps everyone at about the same pace.
