Can someone I shared with pass the calendar along
Yes, the view-only link; deciding who can edit stays with the owner.
Anyone you share with can copy the calendar's view-only link (Copy link under Shared with me, or Share in the app) and send it onward, so grandparents get the game schedule without you lifting a finger.
That link shows the same public share page you control: if you ever press Stop sharing, it stops working for everyone who has it.
Granting real access, view or edit, always stays with the owner: only you can invite people, change roles, or remove them.
